This role is suited to an experienced technical specialist who enjoys solving complex problems, applying independent judgement, influencing change and improving health and safety outcomes on a broad scale.

Key responsibilities

- You will provide expert advice on occupational health and radiation risks, influence regulatory policy and guidance, lead complex investigations, and contribute to improved health outcomes for workers across the mining industry.
- As the Senior Inspector of Mines - Health and Radiation, you will help shape the future of health and radiation regulation within Western Australia’s resources sector.
- Working with industry, government agencies, technical experts and internal stakeholders, you will help develop sustainable regulatory capability, translate technical knowledge into practical regulatory solutions, and support continuous improvement in health and radiation management across the sector.




- You will exercise delegated statutory powers under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and administer the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 as a Senior Inspector of Mines.

What you need

- To be eligible for a permanent appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application.
- Applicants must provide their certification and/or academic transcripts to verify relevance to the job requirements.
- Qualifications obtained outside of Australia must be provided with an assessment from the Overseas Qualifications Unit to ensure they meet Australian Standards (this is a free service).
