Establish and maintain a positive partnership workplace in which Aboriginal communities are encouraged to communicate and interact with Police members to proactively resolve issues and actively promote awareness of the role of Victoria Police within Aboriginal communities.

Key responsibilities

- As an Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer (ACLO), you will be responsible for enhancing relationships between police and the local Aboriginal Community, as well as establishing effective communication and networks between the police, Aboriginal community, government and non-government agencies.
- A Confirmation of Aboriginality will be required for this role.
- Your usual place of work will be at Melbourne East Police Station located in 202 Bourke Street, Melbourne, however,



you will be required to work at any other location within the Division as required.
- For this role you will be required to apply and pay for a Working with Children Check prior to receiving a job offer.

What you need

- Demonstrated knowledge, experience and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal community, including the historical and contemporary issues impacting on the community.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
