About Bangalow Chicken Shop

Bangalow Chicken Shop is a new neighbourhood restaurant in the picturesque town of Bangalow. The idea grew from the owners’ own experience as local parents looking for somewhere their families could enjoy quality, good-value food in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

We saw an opportunity to create the kind of place we wanted for ourselves: an easy family dinner, a satisfying workday lunch and a comfortable meeting place for the whole community.

Our ambition is to become a place Bangalow can rely on - serving quality food with genuine value, warmth and personality.

This is more than a chicken shop, as well as providing a classic high quality takeaway option, we will offer a unique dine in experience with wines, specials and chef menus.

The Role

As our founding Restaurant Manager, you’ll work closely with the owners to shape the team, culture, systems and customer experience from the beginning—and play a defining role in what Bangalow Chicken Shop becomes.

Our first goal is to build a chicken shop that Bangalow genuinely loves. Once we get the model right,



our ambition is to bring the concept to other local communities—and create exciting opportunities for the people who helped make the original successful.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who wants genuine ownership, meaningful influence and the satisfaction of building something with the potential to grow.

What you’ll do

- Lead from the front during service.

- Recruit, train, roster and develop the team.

- Maintain food quality, cleanliness and safety standards.

- Manage customer feedback and complaints.

- Oversee stock, suppliers, cash and daily operations.

- Monitor sales, labour, food costs and waste.

- Keep dine-in, takeaway, online and catering orders running efficiently.

- Improve systems and solve problems.

- Maintain regulatory compliance.

- Report results and opportunities to the owners.

What you’ll look like

- At least five years’ hospitality experience, including restaurant-management or supervisory responsibility.

- A proven ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

- Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.

- Commercial understanding of sales, labour, food costs, waste and profitability.

- Experience managing rosters, stock, suppliers, cash and daily reconciliation.

- Calm, confident decision‑making during busy and challenging services.

- High standards for food quality, consistency, cleanliness and safety.

- Strong organisation, initiative and attention to detail.

- A current NSW RSA competency card.

- A current recognised first‑aid certificate, or willingness to obtain one before commencing.

- Unrestricted legal working rights in Australia.
