CTE- Business Education Teacher

Qualifications

- This position requires a certified teacher for the purpose of teaching skills needed for success in the world of work and business management, marketing, financial services, and entrepreneurship to students at the intermediate and/or high school level
- Integrate common core standards for reading, writing and math skills into the curriculum
- Must hold a valid Indiana Business Education license or a CTE: Business
- Knowledge in the use of the Microsoft Office Professional Software and other current technologies used in business education
- Environmental Conditions: (the following are examples) mostly inside but can be exposed to extreme weather conditions if traveling, wet and/or slippery surfaces, exposure to air-borne particulates, chemical irritants, biological exposure, exposure to communicable diseases, working around moving objects, and working alone
- Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to drive to meetings or work sites before, during, or after the normal working day

Responsibilities

- Reports to: Building Principal
- Possess all requirements for teaching business education
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and develops workplace attitudes
- Has working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, and current researched best practices and strategies, and students' learning styles and needs




- Update the curriculum to meet changing IN state standards and College & Career Pathways for Business Management, Marketing, Financial Services, and Entrepreneurship
- Establishes developmentally appropriate instructional and behavioral expectations for students and communicates those to students and their families
- Provide appropriate instruction for students to earn dual credits with post-secondary institutions when appropriate
- Creates lessons and learning environments that are secure, respectful, and interesting, as well as multicultural, gender-fair, disability sensitive
- Selects, adapts, and individualizes materials appropriate for diverse student populations and skills
- Demonstrate experience implementing innovative instructional programs
- Collaborates and communicates regularly with families in making educational decisions and uses family and community resources
- Regularly assesses student learning by using multiple forms of assessment
- Collaborates with peers to develop, plan, and implement best practices based on the needs/abilities of the students
