Flex your advanced legal skills in this high performing Legal & Compliance team in LeavePlus, where our mission is to support and protect the wellbeing of construction workers.
At a pivotal time in our enforcement journey, our in-house Litigation team plays a critical role in protecting the integrity of long service leave entitlements across the construction industry. You'll apply your successful paralegal skills alongside a highly specialised team of lawyers, supporting complex enforcement and recovery matters that deliver meaningful outcomes for Victorian workers.
Reporting to the Legal Manager (Litigation), you will contribute to a diverse range of litigation and enforcement activities, including legal research, drafting, evidence preparation, and court-ready documentation. What you'll do
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support litigation and enforcement matters.
- Draft legal documents, briefs of evidence, correspondence, court orders and preparation for court hearings
- Provide trusted support to our in-house lawyers across a diverse litigation portfolio.
- Maintain accurate legal records, files, and case documentation.
- Build trusted relationships with diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to a team-driven, collaborative, values-led culture that puts our workers first.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience in legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skill with a critical eye for attention to detail.
- The ability to manage competing priorities with ease and thrive in a fast-paced, solutions-focused team.
- Deft relationship building skills and a history of building collaborative, valued partnerships across teams and external stakeholders
- An advanced knowledge of legal terminology, ability to apply legal research methods and documentation preparation.
What you'll need to have
- The confidence to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement, and take initiative.
- Productive organisational skills, with an uncanny ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines calmly.
- Proficiency in using legal databases and software including the Microsoft Office suite.
- A Degree in law, legal studies or other relevant discipline preferred.
- Prior experience working as a paralegal in a litigation team. (ideally in an In-house role.
- Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
