As an Accountant, you’ll be key to our mission to enrich lives and strengthen communities. This is an exciting 6‑month max‑term opportunity within our Finance Operations team, supporting the management of fixed assets, capital projects and financial reporting across the organisation.

Your opportunity

As our Accountant, you will manage the end‑to‑end fixed asset accounting process and provide accurate, timely oversight of capital projects, asset capitalisation, depreciation, transfers and disposals across Anglicare. You'll work closely with project, development and operational teams to ensure strong financial governance and accurate reporting of capital expenditure. By maintaining the integrity of our fixed asset register and supporting key capital projects, you'll help ensure sound financial controls and accurate decision‑making across the organisation.

Responsibilities

- Manage the fixed asset lifecycle including additions, transfers, reclassifications, depreciation and disposals
- Monitor capital projects and ensure timely capitalisation of completed assets
- Prepare project spend reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and month‑end journals
- Partner with project, property and operational stakeholders to improve the quality and timeliness of capital expenditure information
- Support audit requirements, financial controls, reporting and continuous process improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring

- You are a detail‑oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills and experience managing fixed assets, capital expenditure and financial reporting processes.
- You enjoy partnering with stakeholders and are confident working across complex projects and competing priorities.

What’s required

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in fixed asset accounting, project accounting and capital expenditure management
- Strong experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting month‑end reporting activities
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong understanding of financial controls, accounting standards and audit requirements




- A continuous improvement mindset and robust stakeholder management capability

What’s preferred

- CPA or CA qualification, or currently studying toward a professional accounting qualification
- Experience within a complex or multi‑site organisation
- Exposure to property development, construction or capital project environments
- Experience extracting and analysing large data sets from various finance systems
