Due to continued growth, Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College seeks to appoint an innovative and dedicated English/HSIE Teacher with excellent communication skills and a passion for student learning. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and effective lessons across English and HSIE, provide academic and pastoral support to students, and contribute positively to the wider life of the College.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences in English and HSIE that promote deep understanding and critical thinking.
- Build positive learning relationships through restorative practices and effective classroom management.
- Differentiate learning to support the diverse needs of students.
- Use assessment data to inform teaching practice and improve student outcomes.
- Engage in reflective practice and ongoing professional learning.
- Contribute to a collaborative faculty culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning programs.
- Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
Additional Responsibilities
- Deliver the English/HSIE curriculum in an engaging, innovative, and student-centred manner.
- Develop and implement high-quality teaching and assessment programs aligned with NSW NESA syllabus requirements.
- Provide students with timely, meaningful, and constructive feedback.
- Foster literacy, critical thinking, research, and communication skills across learning programs.
- Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning setting.
- Participate in faculty initiatives, co-curricular activities, and College events.
- Actively contribute to a culture of academic excellence and student engagement.
- Uphold and support the Christian values and mission of the College.
Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
- Qualifications and accreditation to teach English and HSIE in NSW.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Stage 4, 5 and 6 NSW NESA syllabi.
- Experience teaching HSC courses is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices.
- Proven ability to effectively engage and motivate students.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines effectively.
- A current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC).
