The successful candidate will design, develop, test, integrate and maintain websites and web applications, translating business and client requirements into secure, reliable and high-performing digital solutions.Position DetailsPosition: Web DeveloperEmployment: Full-time, two-year fixed-termLocation: Sydney, NSWSalary: $85,000 – $90,000 per annum, plus superannuation, subject to experience and the applicable market salary requirementsApplication closing date: 15 October 2026Key Responsibilities • Design and develop responsive websites and web applications from client specifications and business requirements. • Write, test, debug and maintain front-end and server-side code using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and suitable back-end technologies such as PHP and Python. • Develop wireframes, prototypes and functional web solutions and integrate multimedia, graphics, audio and video content. • Integrate web applications with databases, APIs and other specialised inputs; support database configuration and performance optimisation. • Analyse website performance, scalability, accessibility, usability and search-engine optimisation, and implement improvements. • Conduct unit, integration, system and user-acceptance testing; diagnose defects and implement effective fixes. • Apply website security controls, backups,
access controls and maintenance practices and work with network/IT specialists on hosting, server security, business continuity and disaster recovery. • Maintain technical documentation, procedures, website inventories and records of incidents, enhancements and maintenance activities. • Assist with web strategies, development methodologies and delivery plans aligned with business requirements. • Coordinate with internal staff, clients and overseas stakeholders on technical requirements and delivery activities, including site visits within NSW where required.Essential Skills and Experience • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related discipline, or equivalent skills and experience. • At least 3–5 years of qualified Web Developer experience, with demonstrated delivery of web projects. • Strong practical capability in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript and experience with PHP, Python or comparable back-end technologies. • Experience with web frameworks, APIs, databases, responsive/mobile development and web performance optimisation. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, risk-assessment and problem-solving capability.
• Robust written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders and technical specialists. • Ability to take initiative, work independently and manage priorities with limited supervision. • Understanding of website security, hosting, access management, backups and disaster recovery.Desirable / Emerging Technology Skills • Practical experience using AI-assisted software development and productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot and Claude AI, to support coding, documentation, analysis, testing and development workflows. • Understanding of responsible AI use, including validation of AI-generated code, security/privacy considerations and human review before production use. • Experience with modern cloud, DevOps, version-control and automated testing practices.Additional Activities • Maintain website updates, backups, documentation and client ICT requirements. • Coordinate with team leads on procedures, standards and technical guidelines. • Provide development support for specific business and ICT requirements. • Occasional travel within NSW for site surveys and support.How to ApplyPlease submit your current CV and a brief cover letter addressing the essential skills and experience to by 15 October 2026.Equal OpportunityIT Hub Canberra Pty Ltd is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from suitably qualified Australian citizens, permanent residents and other applicants who have appropriate Australian work rights.
