Store Manager – Floristry Retail Operations

Brisbane Market Flowers | Rocklea, Brisbane – Full-time – Early starts and rotating Saturday’s required

Brisbane Market Flowers is looking for an experienced Store Manager who is genuinely excited by flowers, people and business.

For more than 30 years, we have built our reputation on quality flowers, knowledgeable service and strong relationships with our customers and the Brisbane community. As the business enters its next stage of growth, we are looking for a practical, people-focused leader who can take genuine ownership of the store’s daily performance.

This is not simply a senior florist position.

It is a hands‑on, high‑accountability leadership role for someone who can see the whole store: the customers waiting, the orders due, the flowers that need attention, the team that needs direction and the numbers behind the day.

The role

The Store Manager will be responsible for the execution of daily retail operations. You will be trusted to set the pace, establish clear priorities and keep people, quality and performance moving in the right direction.

You will work closely with the Purchasing Officer and Business Coordinator.

We are looking for someone who can bring structure without losing warmth, hold standards and contribute ideas while respecting clear business responsibilities.

What you will own

- Leading the daily opening, setup and operation of the store
- Setting transparent tasks and allocating work across the team
- Ensuring online, phone and in-store orders are completed accurately and on time
- Monitoring product quality, presentation and customer service standards
- Providing clear direction, coaching and day‑to‑day performance feedback




- Adjusting workflow and staff allocation when priorities or order volumes change
- Managing busy peak trading periods and unexpected staffing challenges
- Ensuring workplace procedures, safety requirements and operating standards are followed
- Monitoring store performance, productivity and agreed KPIs
- Providing clear operational handovers
- Working constructively with the Purchasing Officer to align stock availability with sales and production needs
- Reporting staffing, conduct, compliance and performance matters to the Business Coordinator
- Supporting major events, graduations and seasonal trading periods, including Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas

You will ideally bring

- Experience managing or supervising a retail, floristry or similarly fast‑paced team
- Strong floristry knowledge and an understanding of quality floral presentation
- Demonstrated experience allocating work, setting priorities and holding people accountable
- The confidence to provide respectful and direct performance feedback
- Strong customer service and complaint‑resolution skills




- Sound judgement when working under pressure
- An understanding of labour efficiency, sales targets and operational KPIs
- Strong organisation, communication and problem‑solving skills
- The ability to work collaboratively without blurring decision‑making responsibilities
- A reliable, professional and solutions‑focused approach
- Confidence using retail systems, online orders and general business technology

Hours and availability

This is a full‑time position based at our Rocklea store.

The role involves

- Regular early‑morning starts
- Rotating Saturday responsibility
- Increased availability during Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, graduations, Christmas and other peak periods
- Hands‑on involvement when the store is busy, while continuing to lead and delegate effectively
