Islamic College of Brisbane - Karawatha QLD

We are seeking an Arabic Primary Teacher on a full-time permanent basis to join our team, commencing Term 4, 2026.

The Opportunity

The Primary Arabic Teacher will work collaboratively with the Head of Primary School and the Head of Teaching and Learning, and the wider teaching team and will be responsible for:

- planning and delivering engaging, high-quality Arabic lessons aligned with the College curriculum and learning framework;
- creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports student achievement and participation;
- supporting the wellbeing and pastoral needs of students;
- responding to individual student learning needs and adapting teaching strategies where appropriate; and
- contributing positively to the wider life of the College and working collaboratively with colleagues, students and families.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- Relevant teaching qualifications and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT), or eligibility for registration.
- Strong Arabic language proficiency and the ability to teach Arabic effectively to primary-aged students.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Arabic lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
- A sound understanding of primary students’ learning, development and individual learning needs.
- The ability to create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom setting that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with students.
- The ability to monitor student progress and use assessment information to inform teaching and learning.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills,



with the ability to work positively with colleagues, students and families.
- Commitment to the values, policies and expectations of the Islamic College of Brisbane.
- Be fully supportive of the Islamic ethos, values and practices of the College
