Full-Time Draftsman – Renovations & Extensions

An experienced and motivated Draftsman is required to join the team on a full time basis, working primarily on residential renovations, extensions and alterations. This is an opportunity to join a growing building business and work closely with the builder and site team to produce practical, accurate and buildable drawings for a variety of residential projects.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing drawings for residential renovations and extensions
- Existing and proposed floor plans
- House extensions and alterations
- Internal renovations and layout changes
- Basic site plans and site layouts
- Elevations and construction drawings
- Basic construction details
- Drafting from site measurements, sketches and builder instructions
- Preparing plans for building approval and project documentation
- Updating and amending drawings as projects develop
- Liaising with the builder and site team to ensure drawings are practical and buildable





About you

- Previous experience in residential drafting
- Experience with renovations and extensions
- A good understanding of residential construction
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to interpret site measurements and sketches
- Ability to produce accurate, professional and easy-to-read drawings
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Competency with AutoCAD, Revit or similar drafting software
- Knowledge of Queensland residential construction requirements and approval processes will be highly regarded
- Stable and ongoing workload
- Variety of residential renovation and extension projects
- Direct involvement with the builder and construction team
