The National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) is working to protect Queensland from one of Australia's most invasive pests. Our dedicated team plays a critical role in delivering compliance and regulatory outcomes that support the state's biosecurity objectives. Operating across diverse environments, we tackle complex compliance challenges, engage with stakeholders, and support frontline eradication efforts to safeguard Queensland's communities, economy and environment from the threat of fire ants. As a Planning Support Officer, you'll provide analysis, mapping, reporting and coordination support to guide treatment and surveillance activities across the National Fire Ant Eradication Program.

This is an exciting prospect for someone who enjoys interpreting information, solving problems and turning data into practical planning advice. You'll contribute to eradication plans that determine when, where and how operational activities are delivered, while supporting scheduling, progress monitoring and resource allocation.

Working within a collaborative operational environment, you'll develop planning and reporting dashboards, prepare specialised GIS maps and spatial information, monitor emerging risks and contribute to high-quality reports for management. You'll also help review procedures and protocols, support system improvements and ensure planning information remains accurate, reliable and fit for purpose.

This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, organised and comfortable working across data, systems and stakeholder requirements. Your contribution will help operational teams make informed decisions and deliver effective fire ant treatment and surveillance outcomes.

In This Role, You Will:

- Collect and analyse information and data to support operational planning, scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting.
- Contribute to eradication plans,



GIS mapping products, dashboards and spatial portals that guide treatment and surveillance activities.
- Monitor operational progress and emerging risks, support resource allocation, prepare reliable reports and contribute to procedure and system improvements.

- Practical knowledge of ArcGIS, ArcPro or other GIS and spatial mapping tools.
- Experience using project scheduling software or supporting operational planning and scheduling.
- Experience analysing data, monitoring performance or preparing operational reports and dashboards.
- Strong written communication, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of biosecurity, environmental, agricultural or operational program delivery.
