What's On Offer

Corporate Finance manages the finances of the City and includes long term financial planning and modelling, budgeting, funds management (treasury), financial accounting and reporting, tax, asset accounting and reporting, coordination of grant applications and financial systems and administration.

Corporate Finance also provides financial management support to all internal departments through a federated business model.



This model maintains corporate control of the finances while partnering with the departments to develop and improve their business through sound financial management and planning.

The graduate position will transition through Management Accounting and Financial Accounting functions, firstly involved in the preparation and setting of Council's annual budget, then moving to assist in the preparation of Annual Financial Statements. As a graduate you will gain experience in legislative and statutory obligations, as well as reporting for both internal and external parties.

Who can apply?

To be considered for this opportunity you must hold a recognised bachelor’s degree or postgraduate qualification from a tertiary institution, completed within the last two years or be completing prior to the commencement of the program in February 2027. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the program and be able to work full-time.

The Finance Graduate position is recommended for but not limited to graduates who have studied Bachelor of Business (Accounting), Commerce and related fields.
