We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Bookkeeper / Finance Officer to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function for a growing group of businesses with combined annual turnover of approximately $10 million. Operations include a workshop, heavy towing, interstate transport and specialised off-road recovery. Reporting directly to the business owners, this is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys managing the complete accounting function and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records, meeting compliance obligations, and ensuring smooth financial operations. This position offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to become a valued member of a successful and expanding business.

Key responsibilities

- End-to-end management of Accounts Payable
- Processing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing cash-basis and accrual accounting records
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register
- Depreciation calculations and schedules
- Inter-company accounting and reconciliations
- Managing finance agreements, hire purchase contracts and insurance commitments
- Weekly payroll processing for approximately 30 employees & contractors




- Superannuation Guarantee processing and reconciliation

About you

- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior bookkeeping, finance officer or accounts management role
- Robust experience using Xero
- Solid understanding of GST and BAS requirements
- End-to-end payroll processing experience
- Excellent reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Experience in construction, transport, civil contracting or trade-based industries will be highly regarded
- Competitive salary package of approximately $100,000 plus superannuation
