Your Position
As Senior Team Leader, you’ll supervise a small team of Team Leaders, labourers and contractors to deliver construction and maintenance projects across roads, footpaths, drainage lines and other council assets. You’ll manage day-to-day operations, coordinate resources, and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
This is a practical leadership role where you’ll balance planning and administration with on-site supervision. You’ll also play a key role in contractor management, WHS compliance, and continuous improvement of work practices.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-
- Lead and motivate a team to deliver civil works and maintenance programs
- Oversee scheduling, rostering and performance management
- Manage contractors and procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental standards
- Operate plant and equipment when required
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors and the community
To besuccessful in this role you will have:-
- Proven leadership experience in supervising civil teams.
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction, maintenance,
and drainage works.
- Strong communication and organisational skills with a focus on safety and quality.
- Competency in the operation of minor plant and equipment.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and mobile work management tools (e.g. Assetic Mobility).
KeyRequirements:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent qualification, or at least five years’ relevant experience.
- CurrentNSW MR Driver's Licence.
- NSWGeneral Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Be willing to undertakepre-employment screening, including a pre-employment medical and/or policecheck.
- Desirable: Traffic Control certification or willingness to obtain.
- Access to Council's 9-day fortnight.
