We are currently partnering with a leading organisation within the higher education sector to recruit a Payroll Consultant. This is an prospect to take ownership of a dedicated portfolio, provide expert payroll advice and contribute to continuous improvement across a complex payroll environment.
About the Role
As Payroll Consultant, you will provide payroll advice and support to employees and managers, while ensuring the accurate and timely processing of a fortnightly payroll.
You will be responsible for:
- Processing and maintaining accurate payroll and HR master data across a diverse employee population;
- Providing advice and guidance on complex payroll matters, entitlements and legislative requirements;
- Supporting terminations, redundancies, severance calculations and employee benefits;
- Managing payroll-related matters including superannuation, WorkCover, salary packaging and taxation requirements;
- Investigating and resolving data integrity issues, ensuring strong audit and compliance outcomes;
- Supporting payroll projects, system testing, change initiatives and continuous improvement; and
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and acting as a trusted payroll partner.

About You
You will be an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a complex environment and is confident navigating legislation, enterprise agreements and payroll systems.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll and/or payroll master data management;
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, entitlements and compliance requirements;
- Experience managing complex payroll queries and providing practical advice to stakeholders;
- The ability to build effective relationships and communicate complex information clearly; and
- A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to identify opportunities to improve payroll processes.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary $104,000 – $113,000 + 17% superannuation;
- Permanent position;
