Our NSW Government client is seeking a highly capable and experienced Senior Community & Stakeholder Engagement Officer to join their organisation. In this role, the successful candidate will work to support the delivery of high-quality communication and engagement activities across major programs, projects and initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies, coordinating community consultation activities, managing stakeholder relationships and supporting effective communication.
Role Title: Senior Community & Stakeholder Engagement Officer
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Role Till: 31 March 2027
Daily Pay: $500 - $600 per day (excluding super)
Hours of Work: Up to 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and evaluate communication and stakeholder engagement plans that support effective community consultation and participation.
- Coordinate and deliver engagement activities including community forums, workshops, information sessions, stakeholder meetings and consultation programs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups, local councils, project teams and delivery partners.
- Provide advice on stakeholder engagement, issues management and customer communications to support informed decision-making and positive project outcomes.
- Develop stakeholder communications and engagement materials across a range of channels, including digital platforms,
presentations, community updates and project communications.
- Contribute to the development of strategic narratives and communication initiatives that clearly articulate project benefits and community outcomes.
- Support the management of stakeholder issues and emerging risks through proactive engagement and collaborative problem solving.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Media, Public Relations, Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- An ability to write collateral and identify risks.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, public relations or community consultation within government, infrastructure or service delivery environments.
- Proven ability to develop and implement communication and engagement plans across complex projects and programs.
- Robust experience coordinating community consultation activities, stakeholder forums, workshops and engagement events.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing content across digital, print and presentation channels.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within complex and quick-paced environments.
Candidates must possess existing Australian working rights and live in the Greater Sydney Area.
