The role of the Principal Policy Officer - Cultural Intelligence (Identified) in the People and Culture Unit is to develop a framework to strengthen awareness and understanding of cultural intelligence across the organisation.The goal is to champion reconciliation priorities to engage and inspire QCAA employees and the wider community in driving reconciliation outcomes through the delivery of our products and services. This position plays a lead role in achieving the deliverables identified within the QCAA Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability Action Plan (CCAP).

The Unit:

The People and Culture Unit is responsible for providing strategic and operational advice and support to QCAA staff across the full range of HR functions.

What you will do:

- Manage, lead and champion the development and implementation of strategies, projects, frameworks and initiatives that enable the QCAA to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural knowledge, improve cultural safety, consciousness and capability across the workforce.
- Lead and maintain the development and implementation of the reconciliation awareness and understanding across the organisation in line with the requirements and time frames set by Reconciliation Australia




- Provide expert advice to executives and other senior managers in relation to current or emerging issues affecting, or likely to affect the provision of Cultural Capability Action Plan (CCAP) within the QCAA.
- Develop and implement strategies and tools for the continuous monitoring and evaluation of the CCAP, including risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, impact and quality measures, identify and address issues and assess the CCAP progress and overall effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain team-oriented partnerships and positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and teachers, and other stakeholders.
- Identify, develop and strengthen partnerships and knowledge networks within the organisation and the community and promote cultural change, equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) within the workplace.
- Develop and implement the required policies, procedures and practices that improve employment outcomes aligned to EDI.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing priorities, as well as cultural events, programs and services.
- Design and present training programs, workshops, seminars and support materials for internal QCAA employees and other key stakeholders to support the CCAP associated activities.
