Signet Institute of Australia is seeking an Employer Relationship Manager to own relationships with industry partners. This is a new, high-visibility role reporting to the executive team, central to the next phase of growth. You will build the bridge between students and Australian industry, securing work placements, traineeships and apprenticeship pathways while developing employer-sponsored training arrangements.

Key responsibilities

Build and manage a portfolio of employer partners across automotive, fabrication, construction, hospitality and other industry areas

Secure work placements, traineeships and apprenticeship pathways for domestic and international students

Develop employer-sponsored training arrangements, upskilling programs and fee-for-service contracts

Represent Signet with industry associations, group training organisations, government skills bodies and peak bodies

Work alongside Sales & Marketing and Training teams to align course delivery with employer needs

Support new initiatives, including traineeship pilots and industry-facing workshop ventures

Track placement outcomes, employer satisfaction and pipeline activity, and report on them monthly

About you

3+ years in business development, industry engagement, employer partnerships or related B2B relationship role, ideally within vocational education, group training, recruitment or workforce development





Genuine understanding of the Australian skills landscape: apprenticeships, traineeships, work placements and the employer side of VET

Confidence pitching to business owners, HR leads and industry bodies, with persistence to convert conversations into signed agreements

Strong organisation skills - running a pipeline, not just a contact list

Based in Melbourne or Sydney, with willingness to travel interstate regularly

Current driver's licence and valid Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Experience with international students or CRICOS requirements is desirable
