The Organisation

The Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) protects Australia and Australians from threats to their security. ASIO's people are ordinary Australians but they do extraordinary things – they are our most important asset. To be successful, we need talented people who are highly capable, dedicated, adaptable and resilient. We seek to reflect the community we protect. ASIO is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment, where all staff are valued and respected. We welcome applications from all eligible candidates, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religious affiliation, age or disability. We are culturally and linguistically diverse, language skills enhance our collective ability to protect Australia. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply. We are secretive about what we do, not what we value. At a time when Australia's security environment is dynamic, diverse and degrading, our work is more important than ever. Join the mission and make a difference every day.

The opportunity

We are seeking motivated individuals to join our Recruitment teams across multiple levels, from AE4 to AE6 (APS4–APS6 equivalent). Whether you are an experienced recruiter, a human resources (HR) specialist, or looking to transition into the field, this is an opportunity to contribute to the growth of ASIO.

- Recruitment officers support the recruitment of specialist intelligence, technical, and corporate roles. You will also manage high-priority initiatives such as our Graduate, Traineeship and entry level programs. As a key representative of the agency, you will often serve as the first point of contact for prospective candidates and may act as the 'face' of ASIO during virtual and in-person recruitment events. Working collaboratively with business areas across the Organisation, you will help identify critical resourcing needs to ensure we attract and secure the best and brightest talent for ASIO.
- Workforce Coordination focuses on the operational management of our people. In this role, you will use your coordination and people management skills to facilitate the internal workforce lifecycle. This includes managing mobility, transfers and promotions for existing staff, as well as ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new starters. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of the policies and systems that support our team.

Together, these functions ensure that ASIO attracts the best talent and provides the relevant support necessary to sustain our mission.
