The Departmentof Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) strives to encourage the sustainablegrowth of Australian industries including the delivery of a national innovationsystem to drive knowledge creation, international competitiveness and greaterproductivity.

The CIOGroup provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to thedepartment and to Australian businesses and are seeking experienced andmotivated Cloud Engineers and/or Architects with a minimum of 5 years'experience to assist with the delivery of various ICT Projects across the CIOGroup.

Keyduties and responsibilities

CloudEngineers and/or Architects will be required to:

- Develop enterprise level cloud platform architectures for MS Azureand M365;

- Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-based systems;

- Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers;

- Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements;

- Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintain adherenceto whole-of-government standards;

- Provide technical guidance and input into the design and build ofcloud-based systems;





- Liaise with a cross-functional teams including business owners,scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects &testers; to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirementsand project objectives;

- Liaise with the department’s Service Experience team to ensurearchitectural decisions incorporate user experience considerations

- Liaise with ICT Engagement and Enterprise Architecture to ensurealignment to target architectures and technology.

- Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation – testing,continuous integration and deployment

- Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicable tocloud platforms – re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, opendata/access over siloed functionality

- Promote and provide assistance to ensure solutions align with theDTA’s Digital Service Standard

- Be strategic, a leader and influencer.

- Undertake additional duties as required.

Criteria

- 1. Cloud experience: Demonstrated experience in cloud-basedsolution implementation with technologies including: o Azure App Services,Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Azure Service Bus and AzureAPI Management o Azure DevOps for code development, management,repositories,



Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments o MicrosoftEntra ID, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights oIntegrating cloud-based systems with third-party systems, includingMicrosoft Dynamics 365 CRM o Azure networking, security and identitymanagement capabilities including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints andRole Based Access Control

- 2. Cultural fit: Ability to work with geographically dispersedteams Ability to work with technical and non-technical staff at alllevels. Ability to collaborate and mentor team members to promote teamharmony

- 3. Agile: Experience working with Agile Multi-disciplinaryteams to deliver secure, user friendly and reliable solutions that meetstakeholder, citizen, and business expectations. Ability topragmatically change direction and scope as recent information is discoveredand challenges or opportunities present themselves

- 4. Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ implementingand managing cloud systems and technologies. The Cloud Architect/Engineerwill: Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and manageenterprise and application-level architectures for MS-Azure. Provideimpact analysis and technical guidance in design and development ofproject work aligned with WoG Standards

- 1. Demonstrated track record of technical leadership acrossproject and operational tasks

- 2. Demonstrated experience and understanding of cloud-basedtechnologies and architectures

- 3. Demonstrated experience in application and integration, orinfrastructure platform architecture.

- 4. Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and documentingarchitectures for large, complex enterprise systems. Experience with AWSand/or GCP is desirable but not essential.
