Oak Valley Aboriginal School is situated in the very remote Anangu community of Oak Valley, on the Maralinga Tjarutja Lands at the edge of the Great Victoria Desert. This is a rare opportunity to work in a beautiful desert setting where culture, community and connection to Country are at the heart of everyday life.

Oak Valley is a small and proud community with essential local facilities and a school that plays a valued role in community life. The school supports a small and transient cohort of learners who speak Southern Pitjantjatjara as their first language, with English as a second or third language. Our students and families are proud of their school, and we are looking for an educator who will value and contribute to these strong community connections.

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable teacher to work with students from R-12, depending on site needs. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, works well as part of a team, and is committed to building authentic relationships with students, families, community members and Anangu Educators. Experience or interest in EALD, trauma-informed practice and collaborative teaching will be highly regarded.

The Class Structure Across The Site Is

- Playgroup/Preschool
- Reception to Year 4
- Upper Primary/Middle School

As all teachers provide release for one another, it is important that applicants are flexible and confident in teaching across a range of year levels. Early childhood qualifications are required for teachers working in early years settings.

New graduates are encouraged to apply.

In Addition To Salary, The Following Financial Incentives Apply

- Country Zone Allowance and Locality Allowance (approximately $25,000 per annum)
- Special class allowance
- Fully subsidised accommodation, including utilities (accommodation may be shared)
- Removal and relocation expenses
- Travel and accommodation support for medical and dental treatment
- Four paid travel days per term
