As Council continues to grow and prosper at asteady rate, we offer excitingopportunities for multiple Casual Parks & Gardens Attendants!

What we are looking for

We are seeking three motivated people to maintain and preserve Council’s parks and gardens (including but not limited to parks, reserves, cemeteries, recreational facilities and Council’s streetscape) in accordance with Council’s policies, plans and weekly works programs.

These roles are seasonal casual positions, working up to 30 April 2027 - 1 based in Mudgee; 1 in Gulgong and 1 in Rylstone/Kandos.

The salary range being offered for the position of Parks and Gardens Attendant is $36.84 - $39.02 gross per hour (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience) plus allowance and superannuation.

Key Accountabilities

- To achieve the parks and gardens weekly works program in linewith Council’s expectations
- Ability to operate, and undertake maintenance on, plant, power toolsand equipment in accordance with Council’s maintenance schedules
- To ensure that the automatic irrigation systems are functioningcorrectly and undertaking repairs in accordance with manufacturersspecifications
- To ensure all street and town garden maintenance is undertakenin accordance with Council policy whilst having a basic knowledge of theplants, shrubs, trees, and plantings appropriate for the geographical region




- To ensure that the maintenance and repair of burial activitieswithin Council’s cemeteries is completed according to industry standard
- Ability to correctly prune a variety of trees and shrubs
- Basic knowledge of turf and grounds maintenance
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- To be available to undertake out of hours (on call) duties
- Sound ability to keep work records accurately
- To actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace Environment Statement
- Undertake risk assessments and site inductions for tasks as required

To be successful in this role you will have

- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Basic communication skills (oral and written)
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical labouring tasks and complete efficiently to desired
- Demonstrated ability to work to agreed targets in a teamenvironment
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) responsibilities and a commitment to attending relevant WHS training
