Ready to shape safety across multiple sites in a newly created role? We're seeking an experienced WHS Specialist to join a well-established maintenance and equipment services provider based in Yatala, on a permanent basis. Myndshift Group supports a number of industries including mining, civil construction, and heavy engineering. Myndshift Group have been engaged by our client partner, a well-established company specialising in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, to appoint an experienced WHS Specialist into a newly created, permanent position based in Yatala.
About the Role
This newly created role will see you take ownership of safety systems across three workshops (Yatala, Tenterfield and Sippy Downs) managing and implementing safety processes, facilitating inductions and inspections, and acting as the primary safety advisor for the business. A fully maintained vehicle is provided, with some travel required between the three sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and implement safety systems across the Yatala, Tenterfield and Sippy Downs workshops
- Identify workplace hazards, conduct safety audits, and implement risk control measures
- Develop, update and monitor WHS policies to meet legal and regulatory obligations
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries and near misses to determine root causes and corrective actions
- Facilitate safety inductions, toolbox talks and training programs across all three workshops
- Act as the primary safety advisor to leadership and liaise between workers and safety regulators

What We're Looking For
- Background as a Fitter who has transitioned into Safety, or experience in maintenance, civil construction or earthmoving equipment highly regarded
- Solid understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles
- Experience with incident investigations and compliance activities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- Certificate IV, Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health or a related field
