Tenant Participation Officer

The Tenant Participation Officer coordinates the development and delivery of tenant engagement initiatives that amplify tenant voices, support service improvement, and enhance community wellbeing. The role also manages key relationships and partnerships to strengthen communication, improve service access, and promote sustainable tenancies across Homes NSW communities.

What You’ll Do

- Coordinate and assist in the development of community-based projects and activities to facilitate increased participation of residents in community capacity building and neighbourhood activities.
- Develop and implement a range of tenant feedback systems, ongoing consultative/advisory arrangements and mechanisms with individual social housing residents, families, organisations (government and non-government) and the local community.
- Organise and contribute to community meetings and workshops and network with external stakeholders including Council, Education, Police & Indigenous agencies, residents and resident groups.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and review of strategic social plans and contribute to community / client suggestion feasibility reviews.
- Contribute to tenant and community involvement and empowerment planning to improve Homes NSW performance in selected housing management activities.




- Assist in identifying social infrastructure needs (both physical and non-physical) within the community and develop creative strategies and programs to address such.
- Continuously growing tenant engagement through the ongoing facilitation and professional governance of the Neighbourhood Advisory Boards and other mediums.
- Undertake associated administrative duties.

What We’re Looking For

- Proven ability to organise community engagement activities, including meet and greets, community forums, outreach sessions and local events.
- Strong administration and project support skills, including coordinating meetings, venue bookings, catering, stakeholder communications, surveys, action tracking and records management.
- Well-developed written communication skills with experience preparing flyers, promotional content, SMS communications, reports, feedback summaries and other engagement materials.
- Ability to build productive relationships with tenants, community groups, government agencies and service providers, while supporting initiatives that improve tenant participation, community connection and access to services.
