About the Role

As the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Officer (Identified), you will coordinate and support the implementation of Sunshine Coast Council's Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan while strengthening partnerships with First Nations communities across the region. Working closely with the First Nations Lead, internal stakeholders, Traditional Custodians and community representatives, you will help advance reconciliation outcomes,



build cultural capability and contribute to initiatives that make a meaningful difference across Council and the community.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of Council's Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan, including reporting, record management and progress tracking.
- Provide governance and secretariat support to the RAP Working Group and RAP Champion, including meeting coordination and action management.
- Collaborate across Council to deliver RAP initiatives and support the integration of reconciliation outcomes into business activities.
- Build and maintain relationships with Traditional Custodians, First Nations communities and key stakeholders while supporting engagement activities and communications.

You bring cultural knowledge and community connection.
You have a strong understanding of First Nations cultures, histories and contemporary issues, with a genuine passion for advancing reconciliation and positive community outcomes.

You are a relationship builder. You have experience working with First Nations communities, organisations and networks, and can confidently engage with diverse stakeholders to foster collaboration, trust and shared success.

You are organised and outcomes focused. With strong project coordination and organisational skills, you can manage multiple priorities, coordinate initiatives and ensure commitments are delivered effectively and professionally.

You communicate with confidence. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and can prepare professional reports, presentations and correspondence while working comfortably across a range of digital systems, including Microsoft applications.

You are a proud First Nations professional.
