About The Role
This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2027. The Team Leader Statutory Planning helps shape integrated land use and transport outcomes across metropolitan Melbourne. The role leads a team of Transport Planners, supporting housing growth, precinct planning and safe, effective transport networks while ensuring planning applications are assessed within statutory timeframes.
The role provides expert advice on complex planning applications, manages transport impacts and develops planning conditions to protect the network. It represents Transport for Victoria at VCAT and planning hearings, negotiates with government and external stakeholders, and leads strategic planning, change, financial and resource management. The role also oversees complex and high-risk planning referrals and team performance.

Qualifications And Experience
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualification relevant to Statutory Planning and/or Traffic Engineering, or extensive relevant experience (mandatory).
- A current driver’s licence with no restrictions that would prevent you from performing the requirements of the role (mandatory).
- Experience managing planning applications (desirable).
