This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services, and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.

Key responsibilities

- Provide quality Dietetic care to the Mental Health Inpatient services in the Broken Hill Health Service, including the Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIPU) and Mental health Prevention and Rehabilitation Centre (MHPARC).
- Monitor metabolic parameters and social factors that may impact on the client's nutritional status.
- Maintain nutritional knowledge and skills in mental health disorders to provide nutritional care which is in line with evidence-based practice.
- Work with the multidisciplinary team, food services, consumers, families and carers to ensure diet plans are suitable and realistic.
