About the Opportunity

Our Education and Family Programs team are seeking warm and enthusiastic Learning Program Facilitators to deliver programs designed for early years and school-aged audiences. While our Producers will support you with colleague-shadowing and team-teaching opportunities before you deliver the programs yourself, you will need be comfortable being the front-person and able to resolve day-to-day operational problems that may unexpectedly arise in child-centred activities.

Our casual Learning Program Facilitators report to the Manager, Education and Family Programs, and work alongside our Producers. The successful candidates may be involved in delivering regular programs, including Storytime at the Library, education workshops and tours, or supporting targeted school holiday activities. There is no need to create content – the programs are already designed for you. If you work on a weekend or public holiday, the hourly rate of pay will increase to the relevant Saturday, Sunday or public holiday rate.

About You





We value your agile and warm communication style honed from your previous experience in presenting to children. You know how to engage an audience and can think on your feet when the unexpected occurs.

Although we are looking for adaptable facilitators who are open to feedback that is aimed at improving service delivery, ideally you may also have VIT registration and qualifications in teaching early years, primary or secondary to support research-based programs.

In addition, you will come to us with:

- Demonstrated experience delivering curriculum-aligned education programs and events, preferably in an education or cultural organisation setting.
- Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service to a range of audiences, such as families, students and teachers.
- Demonstrated experience resolving technical or operational issues that may arise during programmes or events.
- A track record of welcoming and adjusting practice based on audience and team feedback.
