Direct Personnel are seeking an experienced Team Leader/Leading Hand to join a large, established precast operation in the Newcastle area, manufacturing structural concrete products including Super-T bridge beams.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be on the floor with your crew, coordinating daily production, keeping jobs moving and making sure safety and quality standards are maintained throughout the casting process. If you know precast or structural concrete, can lead a crew and are looking for solid hours with plenty of overtime, this is an opportunity worth considering.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Leading a crew through day-to-day precast production and casting activities
- Coordinating formwork, steel fixing, stressing, pouring, stripping and curing
- Reading engineering drawings, reinforcement schedules and prestressing layouts
- Identifying potential issues before they impact production or quality
- Running pre-starts and toolbox talks
- Coordinating crane and rigging activities for the safe movement of precast components
- Keeping production on track while maintaining safety and quality standards
- Reporting incidents, near misses and quality issues and following through on corrective actions





What We Need from You

- Previous experience leading a crew within precast, structural concrete or civil construction
- Robust understanding of concrete production and construction processes
- Confidence reading and interpreting drawings
- Ability to coordinate people, priorities and production requirements
- Strong communication skills and a hands‑on leadership style
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality
- Comfortable working extended shifts and regular overtime
- Full Australian working rights
