The role includes outpatient and inpatient care, surgery, participation in the after-hours on-call roster, teaching and supervision of trainees, and involvement in research, quality improvement and service development activities.
Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal conditions.
- Deliver comprehensive general ophthalmology care across a range of clinical settings.
- Perform elective and emergency ophthalmic surgical procedures.
- Participate in the Ophthalmology after-hours and on-call roster.
What you need
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and Current Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), or equivalent specialist qualifications.
- Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Broad experience in general ophthalmology and demonstrated expertise in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal disorders.
