As a Consultation Liaison Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting the mental health care of patients within Barwon Health’s bed-based generalist settings.

Key responsibilities

- Working directly with patients and their families, you will provide expert mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) assessment, risk assessment and evidence-based interventions.
- You will also work closely with generalist staff, providing clinical guidance, education and support to build their capacity to recognise and respond to the mental health needs of patients.
- This is a dynamic and collaborative role where you will act as an key link between hospital and mental health services, supporting coordinated, recovery-oriented and person-centred care.
- Provide comprehensive mental health, psychosocial, AOD and risk assessments, along with evidence-based brief interventions.

What you need

- Formal recognised qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, including a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
- Significant experience in mental health and AOD assessment and treatment.
