About Mental Health Coordinating Council

Mental Health Coordinating Council is the peak body for mental health community-based organisations across New South Wales. MHCC champions community-based, non-government organisations who work to support better outcomes for people living with mental health conditions. Together with our members, we make a positive difference in the mental health sector by driving reform, sustainability and system improvements. Mental Health Coordinating Council is a Registered Training Organisation delivering Nationally Recognised Training and Non-Accredited Training throughout NSW and Australia.

About the Role

The Student Support Officer sits within MHCC’s Learning & Development (LD) team. The position is responsible for maintaining administrative processes within the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) arm of MHCC and providing student support. The position requires a self-motivated person with a high level of attention to detail, a strong desire to be part of a dynamic and innovative team and a commitment to implement and uphold MHCC’s ethos. This person must be able to operate and cooperate effectively with others, take initiative and adjust to changes.

About You

- Excellent time management, attention to detail and organisational skills with an ability to meet deadlines
- Manages diverse and conflicting demands to meet agreed standards and timelines
- High level of communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with students, trainers, colleagues and supervisors




- Well-developed computer and digital skills especially in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite and an ability to perform accurate and efficient data entry and reports
- Commitment to excellence and accuracy at all times, demonstrating initiative to problem solving
- 2 years’ experience working within a Learning and Development or RTO environment preferred

Selection Criteria

- Previous experience working in a similar role in the Vocational Education and Training sector or Learning and Development environment is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and provide student support
- Managing participant and trainer communications pre-course, throughout enrolment/attendance and post-course
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and plan, manage project tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accurate and efficient administration skills
- Experience using and managing Student and Learning Management Systems

Salary range is $76,000-$80,000plus superannuation. Remuneration is commensurate with experience.
