About the role
About the role: We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Tour Settlements Officer (Assistant Accountant) to join Live Nation's Touring Finance team in Melbourne. In this 9-month fixed term contract, you'll assist with the settlements process for concerts and tours across Australia and New Zealand, working closely with Tour Accountants and Promoters to make sure all financial information relating to a tour is accurately coded in the accounts payable system. You'll also be responsible for ensuring cash deposits are correctly allocated and that all supporting documentation is in order.
What you’ll be doing
- Settlement accuracy: Ensure correct GL coding and cash receipting of venue settlements.
- Invoice compliance: Check invoice operational approvals are compliant with approval limits before approving in the invoice workflow platform.
- Documentation management: Ensure all event related invoices are saved in tour folders.
- Journal processing: Load tour related journals to Oracle.
- Audit preparation: Prepare end of tour audit checklists to ensure key tour documentation is held on file for audit purposes.
- Compliance submissions: Prepare APRA/PPCA submissions for sign off.
- Cash flow coordination: Liaise with the bank to arrange cash floats requested by Tour Accountants.
- Process improvement: Actively review the settlement process to identify efficiencies and improvements.
What you’ll bring
- Accounting foundation: Experience in an Assistant Accountant role,
or in an accounting function in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical mindset: Strong ability to interpret financial data, identify variances, and present clear reconciliations and commentary.
- Collaborative approach: A team player with a positive attitude who takes pride in accuracy and manages multiple competing deadlines.
- Excel proficiency: Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with comfort across the broader Microsoft Office suite.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic, deadline driven setting where priorities can shift quickly.
- Industry interest: A genuine interest in music, live entertainment, or events, with an appreciation for the fast-paced nature of touring and peak periods.
