Salary range: $74,827 per annum + 13.5% superannuation.

About the role

As a valued member of the Parks and Reserves team, you will help maintain and enhance Hobart’s parks, gardens and reserves, contributing to attractive, safe and welcoming public spaces for the community to enjoy. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will deliver high-quality horticultural outcomes while supporting the ongoing care and improvement of the City’s diverse landscapes.

Role accountabilities include:

- Maintaining and enhancing parks, gardens and reserves, including heritage parks and natural environments.
- Contributing to high-quality horticultural displays that enhance the amenity and presentation of the City of Hobart.
- Following work programs and completing required documentation accurately and on time.
- Undertaking regular inspections of park assets, identifying faults or damage, and reporting issues promptly.
- Working collaboratively within the team to deliver quality places and facilities that support recreation, social connection and healthy living.

The desired applicant will hold a Certificate III in Horticulture (AHC30710) or a related qualification, along with a current Driver Licence and Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People. You bring proven experience within the horticulture industry and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes across parks, gardens and public open spaces.

You are an organised and proactive horticultural professional with demonstrated experience planning, prioritising and delivering work programs across multiple sites. Your sound knowledge of plant species,



horticultural maintenance practices, irrigation systems, and the operation of small plant and equipment enables you to consistently achieve high standards of presentation and care.

You thrive in a team setting, working collaboratively with colleagues, sharing workloads and contributing positively to team success. With a passion for horticulture and creating attractive, welcoming public spaces, you take pride in delivering quality services that enhance the community's enjoyment of Hobart's parks, reserves and gardens.
