As a Support Worker within the Homewards Transitional Housing program, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting vulnerable women staying in the Beecroft House Transitional Housing Service. Working within a trauma-informed, person-centered framework, you will help create a safe, welcoming and positive environment while supporting residents with immediate needs and connection to services.

Key responsibilities

- Provide warm, respectful front-of-house support to residents and assist with immediate housing and support needs.
- Work within a person-centered, trauma-informed framework to support safety, connection and empowerment of women.
- Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming service workplace, including preparing resident rooms for service access.
- Support participation in programs and group activities that respond to residents' social support, education and health needs.
- Maintain accurate client records and complete reporting and administrative tasks within required timeframes.
- Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues, partner organisations and the broader WCS network.
- Support culturally safe and inclusive service delivery for First Nations peoples,



culturally and linguistically diverse communities and LGBTQIA+ communities.

About you

- Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or currently working towards a qualification in social work or similar.
- Understanding of community services and trauma-informed, person-centered practice.
- Ability to manage professional boundaries and work respectfully with vulnerable clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and software systems.
- Ability to obtain satisfactory mandatory compliance checks, including Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
- Recognised first aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one before appointment.
- Experience working with victim-survivors of domestic and family violence.
