You will contribute your social work expertise to assessment and treatment planning, with a focus on addressing the broader factors that impact recovery, including housing, employment, financial wellbeing, family relationships, dependent children, peer connections and social isolation.

Key responsibilities

- Working within a 32-bed inpatient unit, you will be part of a multidisciplinary therapeutic team delivering individual, family and group interventions.
- You will have a particular focus on supporting consumers with complex needs, working collaboratively with community case managers, primary nurses and external services.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based social work interventions, including psychosocial assessment, counselling, advocacy, education and support for consumers with complex needs throughout admission and discharge planning.
- Contribute to professional practice, quality improvement and service development, including clinical supervision,



student placement, accurate documentation and data collection, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you need

- AASW-accredited Bachelor or entry-level Master of Social Work, eligibility for AASW membership and a current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Demonstrated clinical social work skills and experience, including psychosocial assessment and intervention with people experiencing major mental illness, with a robust understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed care.
- Sound knowledge of mental health practice and relevant legislation, including the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022, MARAM, psychiatric treatment approaches, inpatient care and discharge planning, including NDIS pathways.
