Contract to 18/04/2027 | Brisbane | Hybrid Working
Lime Recruitment is currently working with a Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Procurement Officer. In this role, you will undertake moderate procurement and contract management activities, supporting business units to deliver effective outcomes in line with Whole of Government priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager, Procurement to provide high-level advice, guidance, and support across the agency regarding state procurement policy, practices, and internal processes.
- Prepare comprehensive procurement documentation including planning, specification, sourcing, evaluation reports, briefing notes, and correspondence.
- Conduct market research, industry analysis, market sounding, and risk analysis to assist clients in developing robust project specifications.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in evaluation meetings, supplier briefings, and vendor negotiations with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Support senior staff with contractor and consultancy engagement, administrative functions, and the procurement of key goods and services.
- Maintain efficient electronic database and hard-copy record management systems, including registers of specifications and contract documentation.
- Review and evaluate administrative systems to continuously recommend and implement operational efficiency improvements.
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships across internal departments and external networks, including supplier site visits and public enquiry resolution.
About You:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management, and coordinating account management or financial functions (experience with SAP is an advantage).
- Strong knowledge of state procurement policies, relevant legislation, and the ability to apply complex procedures effectively.
- Proven time management, planning, and organizational skills to prioritize competing demands and hit tight project deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a focus on strong customer service, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
- Sound technical capability across the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and specialized databases.
- Solid problem-solving, research, and analytical skills with high attention to detail and sound judgment when handling sensitive, confidential information.
- Procurement Level 1 or 2 purchasing certification (or equivalent Queensland Government Procurement qualification) is highly desirable.
