Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to expand your career into Human Resources? We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Support Officer to join our team.

This role is ideally suited to someone with demonstrated payroll experience who is currently studying Human Resources or a recent HR graduate. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll while gaining valuable hands‑on experience across a broad range of human resource functions.

About the Role

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of weekly payroll (100+ employees) and supporting key HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management and performance review coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

- End-to-end processing of weekly payroll for 100+ employees
- Monthly Reporting including Payroll Tax & Coal Long Service Leave
- Interpretation and application of awards, individual flexibility agreements, enterprise agreement and payroll legislation




- Maintaining payroll compliance and confidentiality at all times

Human Resources

- Coordinating employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Assisting with recruitment activities including drafting job advertisement, screening applications, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks
- Coordinating staff performance review processes
- Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records

About You

- Demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
- Robust communication and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Currently studying, or have completed, a qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
- Experience within manufacturing, industrial or blue-collar environments
- Exposure to HR administration, recruitment and/or employee lifecycle activities
