Infrastructure Services plays a critical role in preserving, maintaining and enhancing Brisbane's extensive asset portfolio, including the city's road network, bridges, footpaths, parks and urban forest.

Our Branch

Asphalt and Aggregates oversee the management of Council's quarries and road surfacing operations, including the laying and repair of asphalt pavements, minor pothole repairs and road line marking.

The branch consists of three core business units: Road Resurfacing, Asphalt Production and Quarries.

The Role

This role is a mix of hands‑on plant operation and maintenance of the facilities. You'll participate in daily asphalt production, depot upkeep, operate mobile plant when needed, maintain site housekeeping, and work with the team to keep production running safely, efficiently and on schedule. You'll also help solve day‑to‑day operational issues, monitor performance, and ensure all work meets safety, environmental and quality standards.

Are you right for the role:

- Work within a team of production staff
- Commit to safety and quality on every shift
- Confidently operate Front-End Loaders, Forklifts and Skid Steers in a busy production environment
- Have an understanding of asphalt production
- Keep production running smoothly by assisting the team leader and maintaining quality standards
- Use basic computer skills to complete production records, reports and day‑to‑day admin tasks.

Mandatory requirements:

- Possession of current Forklift Licence
- Demonstrated competency in the operation of a Front-end loader.
- Demonstrated competency in the operation of a Skid Steer Loader

Note: A full pre‑placement medical and functional assessment is required for this role.
