Key Responsibilities
Daily Warehouse Operations
Coordinate closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor to plan and allocate daily tasks.
Ensure the timely receipting of goods and dispatch of custom smoke control orders.
Monitor workflow to ensure production schedules and project deadlines are consistently met.
Take responsibility for the packing and occasional delivery of goods as required to support operational and customer needs.
Quality & Accuracy Control
Conduct regular floor checks to confirm jobs align with pick lists, drawings, and specifications.
Verify correct sizes, materials, finishes, and compliance requirements prior to dispatch.
Lead by example by actively assisting with picking, packing, loading, and manual handling of custom assemblies during peak periods.
Inventory & Materials Control
Oversee accurate receipting, storage, and stock counts of materials and powder coated jobs components to prevent delays that may impact the committed delivery date.
Ensure all inventory movements are correctly recorded in the system.
Team Training & Safety
Train team members in the safe handling and storage of smoke control products and components.
Promote and enforce a solid safety‑first culture within the warehouse environment.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
Liaise with Production, Project Mangers Engineering, and Sales teams to promptly resolve any NCRs.
Must Haves
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment, with prior experience supervising or leading a small team.
- Attention to detail- Strong focus on accuracy when handling project‑specific and bespoke items, including labels, measurements, drawings, and dispatch documentation.
- Problem Solving Skills- Ability to resolve issues relating to non‑standard items, custom packaging, or specialised dispatch requirements.
- Systems and Technical Skills- Comfortable using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or inventory software to manage custom SKUs and ensure traceability. NetSuite experience is beneficial but not mandatory- training will be provided.
