In this role, you will: Exercise sound judgement when managing complex or sensitive issues.
Key responsibilities
- Reporting to the Coordinator Communications and Engagement, you'll work across the organisation to create engaging content, support communication strategies and strengthen Council's reputation with the community, stakeholders and media.
- As Communications Officer, you'll play a key role in delivering Council's media, public relations and communications activities.
- You’ll help bring projects, programs and events to life through compelling storytelling, strategic communications and proactive media engagement.
- Prepare media releases, speeches, newsletters, publications and other communication materials.
What you need
- You're a confident communicator with a flair for storytelling, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- You enjoy building relationships, working collaboratively and delivering high-quality work in a quick-paced environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Media, Communications or a related discipline, with at least three years' relevant experience.
