This is an opportunity for an accomplished Principal Civil Engineer to lead the design capability of a growing, construction‑led engineering consultancy.

Working directly with the Managing Director, you’ll become a trusted technical counterpart; personally developing, reviewing and certifying complex civil and temporary works designs while building the systems, standards and team required for future growth.

It’s an ideal role for an ambitious Senior Engineer who wants to remain technically hands‑on while progressing toward broader leadership and potential partnership.

The role

You’ll take ownership of:

- Complex civil and temporary works design, review and certification
- Constructability, construction methodology and technical risk
- Projects involving excavations, staging, live services and high‑risk works
- Engineering assurance, QA and technical governance
- Direct engagement with contractors, clients and authorities
- Developing design systems and standards
- Mentoring and building the future engineering team
- Improving engineering delivery through technology, AI and automation

About you

You’ll bring:

- Civil Engineering qualifications
- RPEQ registration,



or the ability to obtain it
- Robust civil and temporary and/or permanent works design capability
- Experience delivering practical solutions in complex construction environments
- Tier 1 or 2 contractor experience, or equivalent construction‑focused design experience
- The ability to personally develop, review and certify engineering designs
- Strong commercial judgement and confidence working autonomously
- The capability to lead, mentor and build a technical team

You’ll be equally comfortable developing a complex design and working alongside contractors to determine how it can be safely and practically built.
