- Casual ad hoc role, ideal for freelance producers
- Hourly rate $57.00 per hour (min 4-hour shift) plus 25% casual loading
This is a hands‑on opportunity to help shape and grow ABC International's dedicated YouTube channel for audiences across the Indo‑Pacific.
Working under the direction of the Digital Content Manager, you'll combine channel management with content production and editing, helping develop YouTube‑specific formats, optimise performance and keep publishing running smoothly.
You'll also work closely with producers and teams across the ABC to identify strong content opportunities and make sure everything published meets editorial, legal and rights requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing day‑to‑day operations of the ABC International YouTube channel, including uploads, metadata, thumbnails, scheduling and channel settings.
- Producing and editing YouTube content directly, while working with producers to develop new YouTube‑specific formats.
- Using YouTube analytics, industry tools and audience insights to optimise content performance and support channel growth.
- Monitoring platform trends, audience behaviour and emerging best practice and apply these insights to content and publishing decisions.
- Building and maintain workflows and documentation that support consistent and efficient channel operations.
- Developing solid relationships across the ABC to identify suitable content for the channel and ensure all output meets legal,
editorial and rights requirements.
What You'll Bring
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing and growing an organisational YouTube channel, including uploads, metadata, thumbnails, scheduling and channel settings.
- Substantial experience producing and editing high‑quality video content for YouTube and other social platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of video production and editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and priority management skills, with the ability to balance competing deadlines.
- A strong interest in ABC International audiences and issues affecting the Indo‑Pacific, with the ability to recognise national and international news significance.
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across multiple priorities.
