Greenroom Strategic (GRS) is seeking experienced Air, Land, Maritime, Space and Cyber Domain Mission Specialists to join our growing team. As an outsourced service provider, we support Defence with a range of services in support of force design, capability development, capability delivery and Joint Mission Design activities. We require senior Defence professionals who can apply deep operational expertise, strategic insight and joint force thinking to help translate Defence strategic guidance into future capability requirements and mission-focused force design outcomes.

Successful candidates will possess extensive single war fighting Domain and Joint Operations experience, a strong understanding of Defence strategy and policy, and the ability to operate comfortably at the operational and strategic levels of planning. Working alongside Defence stakeholders, Domain Mission Specialists will contribute to the development of mission designs, capability needs, operational concepts and analytical products that support a potent future for the Australian Defence Force.

This role is ideally suited to individuals with extensive operational backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

- Apply mission engineering and operational analysis principles to support Defence force design and future capability development activities.
- Translate strategic guidance, policy direction and operational requirements and trends in warfare into mission outcomes, capability needs and force design recommendations.
- Support the development and refinement of Joint Mission Designs, mission characterisations, operational concepts and related analytical products.
- Analyse complex operational challenges and identify integrated solutions across multiple warfighting domains.
- Engage with Defence stakeholders to understand evolving operational requirements, warfare trends, future concepts and capability priorities.
- Contribute to the development of mission engineering artefacts, threat-informed assessments, operational scenarios and capability needs analysis.




- Support the testing and evaluation of future capability concepts and system-of-systems solutions.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to develop evidence-based recommendations that support Defence decision-making.
- Maintain awareness of Defence strategic priorities, force structure developments, emerging technologies and operational trends impacting future military capability.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum 15 years' Defence operational, headquarters, mission planning or force design experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Defence strategic, policy and force design environment.
- Deep understanding of the Air Domain and the employment of Air Power across the full spectrum of operations, or extensive experience in the Space or Cyber Domain together with demonstrated expertise in at least one other operational domain.
- Demonstrated experience operating within Joint, Integrated or Multi-Domain environments.
- Experience integrating effects across Air, Maritime, Land, Space, Cyber and Information domains.
- Ability to think beyond tactical solutions and contribute to creative strategic and operational-level force design outcomes.
- Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders across Defence, Government and Industry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Current or recently held Australian Government Security Clearance (NV1, NV2 or higher).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

- Knowledge of force structure planning, capability lifecycle management and concept development.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using analytical or modelling tools.
- Understanding or experience with SysML and/or CATIA

Flexible Engagement Options

We are open to engaging the successful candidate as either a permanent employee or on a subcontracting basis, depending on experience, availability and mutual suitability.

Commencement dates are flexible and may range from immediate start through to January 2027, depending on candidate availability and project requirements.
