WHS Business Partner | 6-Month Contract | Major Australian Logistics Brand
Zenergy's contract and interim division is teaming up with a household-name Australian logistics operator to find a WHS Business Partner for their growing team. This is a 6-month contract supporting a business that moves fast — think warehouses, sorting hubs, delivery centres, and a sprawling network of drivers and contractors.
You'll report directly to the National WHS Manager, stepping into a role that's as strategic as it is hands-on. You'll be the trusted safety partner for operational leaders, frontline crews, and support teams alike — getting ahead of WHS risks, keeping the business compliant, and continuously raising the bar on safety performance.
What the Role Involves:

- Building close working relationships with site leaders, ops managers, and delivery teams to weave practical WHS thinking into high-volume parcel handling, vehicle operations, manual handling, and last-mile delivery
- Bringing proven experience leading operational work groups and managing a broad range of stakeholders
- Advising and coaching business units on identifying and controlling risk — with particular focus on fatigue, traffic management, ergonomics, manual tasks, and contractor safety
- Taking the lead on incident investigations and root cause analysis, driving corrective actions and championing a "learn and improve" approach
- Designing and rolling out WHS programs, policies, and safe work method statements suited to logistics and delivery
- Running audits, inspections, and risk assessments across depots, warehouses, and the field
- Delivering training, inductions,

and toolbox talks that build real capability among leaders and workers
- Making safety visible, practical, and part of everyday operations — showing up as a credible presence on the floor and in the field
- Working alongside HR, operations, and external parties (regulators, insurers) on return-to-work, workers' comp, and compliance reporting
- Feeding into national WHS strategy and performance metrics to help drive down incidents

What You'll Bring:

- A WHS/OHS qualification (Certificate IV, Diploma, or Bachelor's) or equivalent, ideally with professional membership such as AIHS
- Solid background as a WHS Advisor, Coordinator, or Business Partner — logistics, transport, warehousing, distribution, or courier experience is ideal
- Strong command of Australian WHS legislation, Chain of Responsibility, Heavy Vehicle National Law, and transport-specific safety requirements
- A practical, on-the-ground style, with the ability to build rapport and influence people from drivers to senior executives
- Sharp communication and coaching skills — comfortable in front of a group and able to turn complex safety ideas into easy action
- An analytical approach, backed by real experience in incident investigation, risk management, and using data to guide decisions
- A current driver's licence and readiness to travel between sites (based in Sydney, with occasional interstate travel)
- Familiarity with safety management systems like ISO 45001 and incident reporting platforms is a strong plus

If you thrive on partnering with operations teams to chase zero-harm outcomes in a high-energy logistics environment, we'd love to hear from you. For a confidential chat, call Matt on 0480 004 970.
