About the role:
The Manager Governance and Integrity provides strategic leadership for Council's governance, councillor support, executive services, freedom of information, privacy, integrity, public interest disclosures, external agency investigations, electoral processes, prosecutions and infringement review functions. The role is responsible for ensuring Council meets its statutory obligations while promoting a culture of accountability, transparency, ethical conduct and continuous improvement.
What you will bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualification in Governance, Law, Public Administration, Compliance, Business Management or a related discipline, and/or extensive relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in governance, integrity, compliance, FOI, privacy or related functions.
- Demonstrated understanding of local government governance and statutory responsibilities.
- In-depth knowledge of the Local Government Act 2020,
Freedom of Information Act 1982, Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and associated legislation.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a customer-focused environment.
- Solid legislative interpretation, policy development and strategic advisory skills.
- Excellent analytical, investigative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience leading organisational change, continuous improvement and cultural development initiatives.
