Experienced Carpenter – Full-Time

Townsville & Surrounding Areas | Long-Term Position

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, qualified carpenter to join our established residential building company in Townsville.

This is a full-time, long-term position with a strong pipeline of ongoing residential construction work.

The role will involve a broad range of carpentry across new residential builds, together with supervising and coordinating other trades on site. You will be working from plans and specifications and will be expected to deliver work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Current and substantial experience in lightweight construction and external cladding is essential.

For the right person, there is an prospect to progress into a Site Supervisor role. The company will provide and pay for the required training to obtain your Supervisor Licence and will support and sign off your application once the required competencies and experience have been achieved.

Key Responsibilities

- Residential framing and general carpentry

- Lightweight construction and external cladding

- Roof framing and truss installation

- Fixing and fit-out

- Installation of doors, skirting and architraves

- Decking and external works

- General construction and maintenance works

- Reading and working from building plans and specifications

- Supervising and coordinating trades on site

- Monitoring workmanship and maintaining quality standards

- Maintaining a safe, organised and productive worksite

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Trade qualification in carpentry

- Current relevant trade licence





- Proven residential construction experience

- Strong experience in lightweight construction and external cladding

- Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications

- Experience supervising or coordinating other trades would be highly regarded

- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Reliable, punctual and organised approach to work

- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements

- Current driver's licence

- Own tools
