Industrial Spray Painter
An established Australian advanced manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Industrial Spray Painter to join its manufacturing team.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced painter with a strong background in surface preparation, spray painting and the application of protective coatings to fabricated metal components and assemblies.
The position offers stable, long-term employment working in a modern, well-equipped industrial paint facility.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare metal components and fabricated assemblies for painting
- Clean, sand and mask surfaces prior to coating
- Mix paints and coatings in accordance with manufacturer and job specifications
- Apply primers, topcoats and protective coatings using industrial spray equipment
- Apply sealants and silicone where required
- Follow paint specifications, work instructions and coating requirements
- Achieve required coating thickness, coverage and finish
- Inspect completed work for defects and ensure a consistent, high-quality finish
- Measure and record coating thickness where required
- Maintain spray guns and associated painting equipment
- Maintain a clean, organised and secure work area
- Follow workplace safety procedures relating to paints, chemicals, PPE and ventilation
What We're Looking For
- Experience as an Industrial Spray Painter or in a similar industrial painting role
- Experience preparing and painting metal components and fabricated structures
- Good knowledge of surface preparation and industrial coating application
- Experience using industrial spray painting equipment
- Ability to mix and apply paints and coatings to specification
- Ability to follow work instructions and coating specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing a high-quality finish
- Good understanding of workplace safety requirements when working with paints and coatings
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a manufacturing team
A Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application, or equivalent trade qualification, would be highly regarded but is not essential for applicants with suitable industrial painting experience.
Experience with powder coating would also be highly regarded but is not essential.
This is a full-time, permanent day-shift position offering stable, long-term employment in an established Australian manufacturing environment. You will work in a modern industrial paint facility, applying high-quality finishes to a variety of fabricated components and assemblies as part of an experienced manufacturing team.
