Clinical Director – Speech Pathology - Little Allied Health

Lead something special

This is more than a management role. It is an opportunity to lead, inspire and grow a Speech Pathology team that is redefining what outstanding, family-centred care can look like for children and families in South Australia.

Little Allied Health is looking for an experienced, values-led Speech Pathologist to step into the role of Clinical Director – Speech Pathology. You will lead a growing team of passionate clinicians, shape the systems and support that help them thrive, and play a key role in our vision to become the centre of excellence for children and families.

You will be a leader who brings both heart and direction: someone who loves developing people, values clinical excellence, enjoys building strong systems, and knows that the best client outcomes come from a supported, capable and connected team.

The role

As Clinical Director, you will provide day-to-day leadership for our Speech Pathology team while continuing to deliver high-quality, evidence-based and family-centred services to children and young people.

You will work closely with the CEO to lead the team’s clinical, operational and strategic direction. You will help create an environment where clinicians feel safe to ask questions, are encouraged to grow, transparent about expectations and proud of the care they provide.

Importantly, this is a leadership role with protected leadership time. You will be allocated dedicated management time each week, separate from your clinical caseload, so you have the genuine capacity to lead well, support your people and make meaningful progress on strategic priorities.

What you’ll be doing

- Lead, coach and support the Speech Pathology team day to day, including HR responsibilities in partnership with the CEO.

- Build a high-performing, values-led team culture where clinicians feel trusted, supported and accountable.

- Provide regular clinical supervision,

performance support and professional-development opportunities tailored to each clinician’s stage of career.

- Design, deliver and continually improve a structured training program that develops capable, confident and well-rounded clinicians.

- Lead and embed robust clinical-governance practices, including supervision, credentialing, risk management, quality assurance and standards monitoring.

- Drive a culture of continuous quality improvement by reviewing clinical practice, client outcomes and service-delivery systems.

- Work collaboratively with the CEO to establish, monitor and report on annual KPIs and team performance.

- Maintain oversight of the Speech Pathology team’s operational and financial performance, including budgets, professional-development spending and agreed financial targets.

- Continue to deliver exceptional speech pathology services to children, young people and their families.

About you

You are an experienced Speech Pathologist and capable people leader who can balance warmth with clarity, clinical excellence with practical decision-making, and individual development with the needs of a growing service.

You will be excited by the opportunity to create lasting impact, not only for the children and families you support, but also for the clinicians you lead. You can see potential in people, know how to build their confidence, and enjoy helping a team work towards a shared vision.

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

- A recognised undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in Speech Pathology.

- Current Speech Pathology Australia membership and full Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status.

- At least five years’ experience as a Speech Pathologist, preferably working with children and young people.

- A current Medicare provider number, or eligibility to obtain one.

- Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience in an allied-health setting.

- Experience developing clinicians and leading teams towards agreed clinical, operational and financial goals.

- Confidence working with KPIs, budgets and team-performance measures.

- Strong knowledge of clinical governance, including supervision, credentialing, risk management and quality assurance.

- A practical understanding of NDIS, Medicare, GP Team Care Arrangements and private health funding.

- Excellent communication, organisation and the ability to bring clarity, energy and follow-through to a busy team.

About Little Allied Health

Little Allied Health and All Ears & Speech is a proudly South Australian private allied-health practice. We bring together speech pathology, audiology, and child and family counselling to provide connected, evidence-based support for children, young adults and their families.

We see each child and family as unique. We value diversity, celebrate strengths and work alongside families to support confident communication and meaningful participation in everyday life. Experience in supporting children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and their families is desirable, but not essential.

Our clinicians are respected experts who care deeply about their work, and about each other. We are ambitious about the future, grounded in integrity, and committed to creating a workplace where people feel supported to do their best work without losing themselves in the process.

If you are ready to bring your leadership, ideas and passion to a team with a big vision, we would love to hear from you. Email your CV and a cover letter to Nicole Eglinton, ••••@allearsandspeech.com.au, and tell us a little about who you are, not just what you have done.

For a confidential chat, reach out to Nicole on (08) •••• •110.

We can't wait to hear from you.
